Small Circular Island Bed with Contemporary Mixed Planting - (2m diameter)
A contemporary mixed planting scheme containing some classic combinations. This is a good small bed of low maintenance plants ideal for those starting out in gardening. The foliage takes a central role here being energetic and dynamic. Mainly spiky and sword shaped leaves with a couple of other forms for contrast. There is plenty bold colour too; flowers appearing from mid-summer onwards.
A variegated grass growing to 1.8m is the tallest plant, so this is not a bed for screening. It is dynamic focal point all summer with floral colour at its peak from July to September. Stunning evergreen content also gives some interest through the winter.
Two out of the seven plants have been given the RHS Award of Garden Merit. To execute the plan will cost approximately £100.
